Gil Christian Q. Savedia, Associate of the Firm, attended the Criminology Profession Week 2025 at the University of Muntinlupa, and delivered an inspiring message. Surrounded by students and faculty members led by Dean Dr. Antonio Flores, and immersed in a vibrant atmosphere dedicated to shaping future defenders of justice, Mr. Savedia’s talk became one of the event’s most meaningful highlights.
During his address, Mr. Savedia shared his journey from being a criminology graduate to becoming a lawyer, illustrating how a person’s path can unfold in unexpected yet deeply fulfilling ways. He highlighted the importance of discovering and unlocking one’s potential, an ongoing process that continually opens doors to new possibilities.
Mr. Savedia also emphasized that criminology graduates in the Philippines are not limited to careers within the tri-bureau (PNP, BFP, and BJMP). His own professional trajectory stands as a testament to the fact that a future in the legal field is equally within reach. In this regard, he urged students to challenge and rise above the stereotypes and stigma often associated with criminology graduates, particularly those perpetuated on social media.
Regardless of the individual paths students may eventually pursue, he underscored the value of humility and remaining grounded. As a final reminder, Mr. Savedia encouraged the audience to strive to become the best versions of themselves and to continue moving forward with purpose and determination.
